- $120 -$140 per hour + super depending on experience
The Role
The Policy, Programs & Engagement Division – is responsible for informing policies, managing external stakeholder relationships, and being the place of excellence for driving national programs, portfolio priorities and outcomes.
The Director, Portfolio Assurance will be responsible for leading and supporting a small team to:
- Owning and managing the portfolio, program and project assurance frameworks across the organisation and in line with the Digital Transformation Agency to set requirements for the organisation’s portfolio of programs and projects
- Leading and conducting independent assurance reviews of the portfolio of programs and projects with pragmatic recommendations, including facilitating lessons learnt reviews of programs and projects
- Overseeing external assurance activities and regular external reporting for programs/projects
- Assisting business areas with project portfolio capabilities, including knowledge management, assurance, and ensuring adherence to appropriate process based on risk and complexity profiles
- Providing oversight and review
- Provide a strategic level of specialist, professional and/or technical expertise in program and project assurance, potentially relating to the work of different program or discipline areas.
- Require extensive knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and agency guidelines and regulations.
- Manage a team or work area with diverse skill sets and tasks or manage a larger team where skill sets and tasks are related.
- Work with a high level of autonomy under broad direction with a concurrent need to resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to drive initiatives for successful outcomes.
- 10+ years’ experience in enterprise portfolio management office or large program management office both in public and private sectors
- Experience of delivery program and project management services within both waterfall and agile project approaches
- Tertiary qualification(s) in program management, IT or business-related disciplines including any certifications in PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, P3O or similar will be highly regarded
