Job description

Job Title: Business Support Officer
Employer: DFP Recruitment Client – State Government
Position Type: 6 month Full Time Casual Temporary Contract – ASAP start!
Pay Rate: $55 – 62 per hour + Super (Level 5)
Location: Murdoch, WA 6150

Key Responsibilities;
  • Prepare monthly reports both internal and external, as directed.
  • Develop and construct budgets as required and monitor actual performance against budgets throughout the financial year.
  • Provide assistance to executive staff and cost centre managers on all matters pertaining to finance.
  • Contribute in the development of financial systems and the utilisation of those systems.
  • Carry out financial investigations as required.
  • Provide leave relief as required.
  • Perform other duties relating to finance as directed.
  • Participates in the maintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Participates in an annual performance development review.
  • Supports the delivery of safe patient care and the consumers’ experience including participation in continuous quality improvement activities in accordance with the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other recognised health standards.
  • Completes mandatory training (including safety and quality training) as relevant to role.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Government, WA Health, SMHS and Departmental / Program specific policies and procedures.
  • Abides by the WA Health Code of Conduct, Occupational Safety and Health legislation, the Disability Services Act and the Equal Opportunity Act.


Essential to be successful in this role:
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and experience in financial management.
  • Sound computer literacy and demonstrated use of contemporary business systems software including financial analysis, statistical and data base management tools.
  • Sound understanding of financial transactions, processing protocols and compliance with business practises.
  • Demonstrated good organisational skills and the ability to be flexible, adaptive and innovative in the achievement of targets and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated good communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as a team member and to manage and prioritise tasks.
  • Recognised professional qualifications in finance/accounting or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards, legalisation and awards.
