Traditional Owner Relationship Advisor
Hours: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
Location: Victoria Park, WA
Duration 6 months casual contract only (maternity cover)
About the Role
As a Traditional Owner Relationship Advisor, you will play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with Traditional Owners across our service regions. About the Role
As a Traditional Owner Relationship Advisor, you will play a key role in building and maintaining strong relationships with Traditional Owners across our service regions. Your focus will be on ensuring engagement processes go beyond compliance and align with best-practice principles for agreement-making and community collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs), Land Councils, Native Title representative bodies, and other Traditional Owner groups.
- Implement the organization’s Traditional Owner land negotiation framework, engagement planning, and benefits policy.
- Support the execution of the Aboriginal Engagement Strategy for operations on Aboriginal land, including agreement-making and partnership development.
- Manage end-to-end engagement activities, including planning, coordination, scheduling, and reporting.
- Develop and review engagement materials such as presentations, information papers, fact sheets, and meeting collateral.
- This position is designated for Aboriginal applicants under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.
- A degree in project management, social sciences, business, community engagement, Native Title, Aboriginal Heritage, or a related field is highly desirable, or relevant work experience is required.
- Proven experience in Aboriginal Affairs, Traditional Owner engagement, project management, or community-based roles.
- Strong background in liaising and negotiating with Aboriginal organizations, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively to support change management planning.
