  • Federal Government opportunities in Parramatta and Newcastle
  • Initial 12 month contract with possibility of extension
  • $60.26 per hour + super
Our Client is a Federal Government body that supports Australians and their families by valuing a positive contemporary attitude to disability. This client is currently seeking experienced APS6 Procurement Officers to join their team in Newcastle or Parramatta.
 
In this role, you will be responsible for providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice. The role will involve team leadership and management responsibilities requiring you to set priorities and management workflows for a team.
 
As a Procurement Officer you will also have a reasonable autonomy and accountability to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • As a procurement business partner, you will establish appropriate procurement methodologies, preparing a range of procurement documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
  • Oversee procurement reporting, verification, and financial transaction processing.
  • Develop and enforce procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Contribute to procurement planning efforts within the wider team and across the organisation.
  • Provide specialised procurement advice, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and procurement policies for delivering value for money outcomes.
  • Offer timely advice to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams.
  • Monitor and advance work area activities to achieve objectives and maintain team cohesion.
About You
  • Providing specialist procurement advice to nominated business areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret policy and legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing procurement documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
  • Managing related procurement reporting and ensuring appropriate records management
  • Ability to contribute to team professional development.
  • Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated government procurement experience will be highly desirable.
  • Leadership skills at APS6 work level standard would be highly advantageous.
