Cyber Security Analyst

 
Contract Till 31 December 2025
Location – ACT onsite
 
DFP Recruitment is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst for one of our government client. The Cyber Security Specialist will analyze and respond to cyber threats, implement security measures, conduct threat-hunting exercises, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance incident response and security operations.
 
Primary purpose of the role
  • Collect and analyze cybersecurity data to identify attack origins.
  • Implement security measures to counter threats and restore operations.
  • Collaborate with ICT teams and business areas to communicate security limitations and produce reports.
  • Conduct cyber threat-hunting exercises and provide threat intelligence.
  • Participate in mentoring and training activities.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for incident response.
 
Skills Required
  • Experience using Sentinel or a similar SIEM solution is essential.
  • Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
  • Familiarity with the best practice cyber security monitoring processes.
  • Experience in cyber incident response.
 
Preferable Experience
  • Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entities
