Job description

Data & Reporting Team Lead required to oversee a small team of data support staff whose work is essential to the day-to-day operations of assessing two competitive grant rounds. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability in response to changing requirements and possess a strong ability to develop practical solutions that enhance data management and align with process-based decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a small team of data support staff to ensure efficient operations
  • Collaborate with other team leads to support day-to-day activities related to assessment of two grant rounds
  • Develop practical solutions to data management that align with the clients operating environment process-based decisions
  • Build and manage Excel datasets and databases using complex formulas, pivot tables, etc., rapidly and with minimal support
  • Amalgamate disparate data sets and integrate them into a single source of truth using Excel
  • Use advanced Excel skills to produce meaningful statistics, insights, visualizations, and executive-level dashboards that are free of errors, current and delivered to a high standard
  • Support workflow management across several streams of activities supported by a master dataset in Excel
  • Leverage strong PowerPoint skills to create presentations for executive and ministerial level audiences
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy and currency of data
  • Undertake at least daily refreshes of data and maintain data back-ups
Qualifications/Experience
  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in leading a data focused team
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including using complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, and database management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing requirements
  • Experience in creating executive-level dashboards and presentations using PowerPoint is a plus
This is a short-term assignment commencing asap through to June 30th, 2024, with view to extension.  The successful applicant is able to work from home 100% of the time. Hourly rate between $70-80 per hour, payable based on skillset.

As this role reports into Federal Government, applicants must hold Australian Citizenship.
