Job description

The Opportunity 

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for an APS5 Secretariat Support Officer. This role will work as part of the Legal Practice and Capability Branch Team. This is a 12-month assignment based in Geelong or Richmond and will be working Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The role will be paying between $55.24 per hour plus super.
 
The Secretariat Support Officer will utilise policy and program experience and strong communication, organisation, secretariat, and stakeholder engagement skills to support the Reporting and Strategy team to manage divisional committees, and various Agency Whole-of-Government committees.

Responsibilities will include; 
  • Managing meeting schedules, capturing minutes, and managing action items collating and reviewing agendas and meeting papers.
  • Supporting the chair at meetings
  • Assessing and maintaining quality assurance processes and documentation relating to cases.
  • Ensuring good record keeping and updating internal record trackers.
  • Responsibility for secretariat support for the Strategic Function

  • Ability to problem-solve and undertake tasks that may require research and analysis.
  • Show initiative and work independently to complete tasks with limited guidance.
