 About the role
 
As an Events Officer, you will manage all aspects of event planning, coordination and execution and will be at the forefront of event planning and organisation, playing a crucial role in shaping agency presence in industry summits, conferences, workshops, seminars, and forums.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 
  • Leading a team as the Senior Events Officer to manage event coordination and management.
  • Collaborating with the Events leadership team to identify key opportunities at events to inform a proactive events strategy.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand event requirements and align event objectives with organizational goals.
  • Developing project plans, monitoring progress, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Monitoring event budgets, tracking expenditure, and ensuring appropriate allocation of financial resources.
  • Liaising with venues on event logistics and providing detailed calendar invites for events.
  • Negotiating contracts and managing relationships to secure necessary resources and services.
  • Identifying potential risks, developing contingency plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Effectively negotiating by listening to differing ideas and views to develop a clear understanding of the issues and presenting persuasive counterarguments.
 The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 
  • Positive contemporary attitudes towards people with disabilities, with a high-level understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
  • Relevant experience in event coordination, preferably in a large organizational setting.
  • Strong digital experience in managing virtual as well as hybrid events.
  • Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience working with EventsAir will be advantageous.
