Job Opportunity: Project Officer  

DFP Perth are seeking an experienced Project Officer to engage on a temporary contract with a Federal Government agency based in Midland 6056.  

Start Date: Immediate 

Contract Length: 8 months 

Pay rate: APS6 - $60.26 hourly rate  

Location: Midland 6056 

Role Description: As a Project Officer you'll lead complex projects under limited direction, guided by legislation, policies, and standards of the Australian Federal Government. This leadership position within the department involves resolving issues, providing technical expertise, and ensuring project deliverables meet high standards. Responsibilities include project planning, providing advice, conducting research, coordinating reporting, budget monitoring, risk management, and contributing to project quality management. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules. 
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise. 
  • Conduct independent research and analysis. 
  • Coordinate project reporting and prepare written material. 
  • Monitor project budgets and assist with procurement. 
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits. 
  • Contribute to project quality management. 
Requirements: 
  • Professional, technical, or management knowledge in a specialised area. 
  • Ability to implement work plans, set priorities, and manage resources. 
  • Capacity to work independently and make sound decisions. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. 
  • Familiarity with computer/software applications including Microsoft Office. 
  • Working with Children Check. 
  • Worker Screening Check. 
  • Pre-Engagement Check for non-public access to agency resources. 
  • Must be a current Australian Citizen 
 
Work Environment: 
  • Open office and hot desk environment. 
  • Potential for remote work. 
  • Significant periods of sitting at a desk. 
  • Ability to operate a telephone and computer.
