  • EL1- $602.55 per day + super
  • 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

This Federal Government body works with people with disabilities, service providers, and the community to ensure consistent, responsive regulation of service providers. They are dedicated to upholding the rights, health, safety, and well-being of people with disabilities receiving supports or services.

About the Role:

The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy will engage in complex problem-solving and issue management while providing high-level policy advice and operational support. The role requires sound judgement and independence to drive strategic recommendations, influence senior stakeholders, and manage key projects.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Conduct structured analysis and provide strategic recommendations for key projects
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, including advanced Excel modelling
  • Create and present materials for senior stakeholders, including the Minister, Board, and Executive Leadership Team
  • Facilitate discussions and present recommendations to various stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Develop actionable plans and ensure stakeholder alignment for successful implementation
  • Produce content to support change management, including policy papers and guidance materials
  • Collaborate with business areas to address issues and drive agency-wide priorities
Skills required:
  • Strong strategic analysis and problem-solving skills for complex projects, including data analysis, modelling, and scenario planning.
  • Proven experience in policy development, aligning with organizational goals and external frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage high-complexity projects, lead teams, and drive change initiatives.
  • Experience in the disability or public sector is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and relevant qualifications in public policy, business, or economics.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) is desirable
