Position Overview:
We are seeking an APS5 Regional Security Advisor. This role involves providing technical, professional, and operational support and advice to address complex security issues. You will be responsible for managing protective security matters for agency offices within a designated geographical area, which will require both intrastate and occasional interstate travel.
As a key team member, you will manage your own workflow and make independent decisions in your area of responsibility. You will also provide policy advice based on relevant policies and legislation.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Provide protective security advice to the agency and strategic partners.
- Develop, maintain, and review protective security policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on compliance with mandatory security framework requirements.
- Prepare, monitor, and review security plans, site security reviews, and risk assessments.
- Develop and deliver training, awareness, and education programs to improve agency security.
- Oversee security maintenance programs, troubleshoot and rectify security system faults and issues.
- Provide metrics and reports to manage agency security risks.
- Identify and report emerging security issues/incidents/trends and propose solutions.
- Manage Security, Emergency Management, and Incident reporting protocols.
- Develop and deliver protective security projects.
- Respond to operational security matters and support PST colleagues.

- Knowledge of Australian Government protective security policies and procedures or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams or projects.
- Strategic thinking to foresee and mitigate potential security risks.
