  • Initial 12-month contract with possibility of extension

Our client is a Federal Government body that supports Australians and their families by valuing a positive contemporary attitude to disability. This client is currently seeking experienced APS5 and APS6 Procurement Officers to join their team in Surry Hills.
 
APS5 Procurement Officer Responsibilities:
  • Provide procurement advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish procurement methodologies, prepare documentation, evaluate tenders, and negotiate contracts.
  • Administer high-level procurement support while managing sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for procurement activities.
  • Monitor and track work area objectives and activities.
APS6 Procurement Officer Responsibilities:
  • Work as a procurement business partner with agency business areas, developing procurement methodologies and preparing procurement documentation.
  • Manage procurement reporting, verification activities, and financial system processing.
  • Implement procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Contribute to procurement planning across the Agency and with the wider Procurement Team.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement activities, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Offer timely advice to stakeholders and report to Branch Leadership and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Ensure high-quality outputs and monitor work activities to meet team objectives.
About You:
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal or state government procurement processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of the MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high volumes of requests and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Previous experience using procurement, HR, and/or project management business systems.
  • Experience in managing staff (for APS6 level).
